THE HISTORY
TIME TRAVEL OF SPAGL
1901
Heinrich Pernpointner starts the company SPAGL & Co. producing picture frames and mouldings together with Franz Xaver Spagl. They manufacture semi-finished products for smaller framing companies and gilding workshops.
1923
The years of inflation force them to borrow capital and to transform the company into the "Holzwarenindustrie AG". This legal form is kept until 1948.
1929
Heinrich Pernpointner jun. becomes director of the company.
1947
Heinrich Pernpointner decides to reorganize the company SPAGL. New markets in the west of the former principal market are developed and SPAGL ascends to be one of the leading companies in the business.
1964 / 66
Company shares are transferred back entirely into the possession of the family Pernpointner. Purchase of a neighbouring sawmill to further expand.
1969
Foundation of a subsidiary in Schärding, Upper Austria.
1974
Heinrich Pernpointner hands over the company to his sons Heinz Pernpointner (marketing) and Hubert Pernpointner (production).
1976
Start of an investment phase that lasts 20 years and comprises the building of a completely new production hall on the area of the former sawmill.
1985
Katrin Pernpointner (Heinz Pernpointner´s wife) joins the company and takes over the product management.
1992
Business acumen: opening of markets in Eastern Europe under the EUREGIO aspect. Foundation of an own subsidiary in the Czech Republic.
1996
Construction of a two-storied service center with a total ground floor of 3,600 sqm.
1997
Co-owner and managing shareholder Hubert Pernpointner passes away.

100th anniversary
2009
Investments in the machinery
2012
111th anniversary. Fabian Pernpointner (Heinz and Katrin Pernpointner´s son) joins the company.
2015
Mrs. Katrin Pernpointner takes over the management of the company SPAGL.
2019
Mr. Fabian Pernpointner becomes director of SPAGL.
